Vice President’s Report

There is nothing new to report.

Librarian’s Report:

We have a number of videos and other instructional items.  Please contact John O’Neil.

Old Business

The demonstration at Barb’s Barn is on for Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10.    This is 2 one day classes.  The demonstrator for this event is Bob Rosan and begins at 9:00 AM each day.  The cost for this event will be $45.00 per day.  Please contact Barb Berger if you are interested.  Barb is asking for suggestions for the demonstration and if you will be able to bring a lathe.  There is a limit due to space so please let her know as soon as possible.

Muriel has chains for anyone interested in making chain pulls for the fair.

John Lilley has been the photographer for the last couple of years and would like to open the offer for someone else to take over the job.  Please let him know.

John also welcomed the demonstrator David Day, who is going to be doing inside out turning,

Jim Hillurger has wonderful news.  His cancer is gone, but he has to build up his strength.

New Business

Rockler is having a customer appreciation event February 20, 21 & 22.  Come if you’re interested.

Nothing new has been decided regarding making something out of the wood from some buildings torn down at the county fair ground.  John will report more later.

Richard Mialki spoke about Joe Ruminski.  He was very impressed with his demonstration.  Rich wants to know if anyone is interested in Clubs I & II going in together to have him come here to do his demonstrations.  He would like to schedule the demonstration for October 4th.  He feels that with the clubs working together, we would have a good chance to break even or maybe even come out ahead.  After much discussion, Rusty made a motion to go ahead with this Brian seconded it.  Motion carried.

There is a gentleman who has 1000 1/8 in. dowels for sale at $.08 ½ each.  Anyone interested should contact Rick.

There is a suggestion that the meeting start at 7:00 instead of 7:30.  Please let  John know your preference.  Nothing will be decided until all problems and possibilities have be checked into.

The new Rockler manager is going to try to attend some of the turners meetings.  He really appreciates what the clubs do at the fair.
