It was reported that the club has donated $19,744.78 to charitable organizations over the past ten years. What great work by the membership. Thanks to all.
Jim Vasi reported Elmer Baumer is at Brothers of Mercy home on Ransom Road. Elmer is currently available for visitors between 10:30 am and 8:30 pm. He is improved but is facing a long recovery.
Those who attended stated Dave Ellsworth’s presentation was remarkable. Great ideas and here’s how you can do it. Thanks to Jim Meier for all his efforts.
Jim Vasi reported that when Jed Donahue was cleaning up after last months demo, a bowl that he brought for show and tell was accidentally dropped. The club paid part of the value of the bowl or $250 to Jed.
After discussion and passing of a motion Barb Berger’s idea of color coding the three (3) lathes and tools was adopted. In the future when someone uses the “green” lathe and green tools it will be checked off vs the inventory of the “green” lathe. Tom has volunteered to assist Barb. Should other members want to help, please call Barb.
Barb Berger and assistants are scheduling a Beginner Woodturner class for Saturday October 26th, for a maximum of 12 members. Care of lathe and tool sharpening will be stressed. Call Barb at 652-4156 to sign up.

Frank Stanko – Explained how he and you can turn firewood into bowls and other objects by green wood turning. Stated how he uses the microwave to dry out the blanks and offered to share his knowledge, one on one, with any member who calls him. – natural edge bowls, lidded boxes – suggests use of ball point #105 dremel tool to sign your work.

What a great time was had by both the sellers, and the buyers. Wood was bought, tools were bought, magazines were sold in packets of many issues. After the last item was sold the club was $468 richer. Thanks to all who brought in stuff.
Thursday 7:30 PM November 7th The club will be looking for three members to serve on a nominating committee. In December, new officer candidates will be presented and voted upon.
