Make-A-Wish Presentation:

Catlin, from Make-A-Wish was presented with a check by Bob Ball for $21,025.40.  She was very appreciative, and praised the efforts of our 4 Clubs at the Erie County Fair.  Emily and Caroline represented two recipients of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western New York. Caroline, who has been under treatment for two and a half years, got her wish and surfed with Disney’s Chip & Dale in Hawaii.  Thanks to all our Club’s membership for a great job well done!

Old Business Items:

Bob Ball reported that his purchase of the 18 new DVD’s for our Library is available for our members.  If you are interested please contact him.  A list of the items available is listed on our website.

Richard reported that tickets are still available for the October 4, 2014 demo with Joe Ruminski.  Tickets are $20.00 per person, and can be obtained from him.  The demo will be at  the Dale Center, 33 Ontario Street  in Lockport 14094. Parking and the entrance is at the rear of the building.  There will be a raffle, which will include many donated prizes, and a split club for the attendees.  Lunch can be purchased by attendees and delivered to the center for those wishing to participate and enjoy lunch at this function.

Rich will also visit all three area clubs to help promote this event. Volunteers are still needed to work the video cameras for the projection screen(s) at this Demo.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact Richard 716-694-5430.

Joe Ruminski will be afforded accommodations with Richard Radel.  Thank you Richard!

Brianne Corbett informed us that our Web pages are almost all caught.   If you get a chance please check out our Facebook page.

As a point of information, Richard asked me to include a website from the Minwax Corporation which has many plans available for projects we can use for Make-A-Wish, and the Aspire Party.  Check it out at - http://www.minwax.com/wood-projects/

New Business Items:

Jim Vasi reported that the Club 1 lathe was a mess after the Fair.  The chucks were disassembled, Plexiglas had stain on it, and the drawer was disorganized.  It was also noted

the bearings need to be replaced.

Gene Renzoni asked the membership to start thinking about making toys for the Aspire Christmas Party in December.  He will bring plans and some donated wooden wheels to the next meeting.  Please remember that these toys are distributed to both girls and boys, and it seems that we are always a little the short side for the girls wooden toys.

Club Demonstration:

The club demonstration was given by Steve Imerese and Gary Jones on segmented Bowls.

Next Meeting/Scheduled Demos:

The next regular meeting will be held on Thursday, October 02, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Maryvale High School Shop.  The October meeting is our annual Auction, so bring in a bag of money, and any items you wish to part with and donate.  Please remember, all of the proceeds from your item(s) will go directly to the club treasury.  It is a fun night for all who attend.

The November Demo will be Joe Wiesnet demonstrating “Five cuts you can do with an Elsworth gouge.”

We are always looking for members to do demonstrations or give us some ideas for our programs.  If you would like to do a demo for us, have any new ideas, or are just interested in learning something specific, mention it to our Vice President, Joe Wiesnet or send me an e-mail and I will forward it to him for handling.

The meeting was concluded at 2050 hours.

I would like to thank Gene Renzoni for taking these minutes of our meeting in my absence.  Thanks Gene, you did a great job!

Respectfully submitted by,
