Brian Effinger advised us of an upcoming Demo.  The Pembroke Club has scheduled Andy Cole for October 6th, 2012 which is the first Saturday in October.  Mr. Cole will do natural edge bowls, among other topics.  The Demo will be from 0900 hours to 1600 hours (4pm) at the Pembroke High School Auditorium, Routes 77 and 5 Corfu, N.Y.  The charge is $20.00 at the door, and there will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.  Lunch will be made available for our members to purchase. There will also be a hands on demo the following day for $70.00 at Barb’s Barn.  If you are interested please contact Brian Effinger at: effyman@gmail.com

In addition to the above, Gary Jones will be doing a beginners demonstration class on September 30, 2012 at Barbs Barn.  There will be a small fee charged to offset the use of the facilities. If you are interested in this class please contact Gary Jones at Garmarjones@hotmail.com   He can advise you the full details. There is a limit to the number of people who can attend.

Show and Tell participants included:

The show and tell portion was given by Brianne Corbett, Steve Imerese, Richard Mialki, Alan Dick, Paul Wilhelm, and Lyle Foell.  Thank you!

Club Demonstration:

The demo was given by Paul Wihelm.  He did Rude Osolinik Style Candlesticks which were on display and for sale at the Fair tables.  Good job Paul, and Thank you!

We are always looking for members to do demonstrations or give us some ideas for our programs.  If you would like to do a demo for us, have any new ideas, or are just interested in learning something specific, mention it to one of the Vice President’s committee members.  I am sure that they will do their best to produce results.  The committee members are:  Jim Cunning, Paul Wilhelm, and Brian Young.

Next Meeting/Demo:

Our next meeting will be at the Maryvale High School Shop on Thursday October 4th , 2012 at 1900 hours (7:00 pm.) sharp.  There is not a demo scheduled as this meeting is our annual Club Auction.  Please bring any tools, wood, or miscellaneous woodturning related articles you wish to donate, and they will be auctioned to the highest bidder.  The proceeds will be given to the Club.  Lots of fun – bring your wallet, there are usually some great items offered.  This meeting was concluded at 2051 hours (8:51 pm).

See you at the Auction!
