Announcements

Jim Vasi stated the display at the Clarence Library was a great success. Thank’s to all who bought items and those who helped setup.

Dave Ellsworth is presenting a workshop at Pembroke High School, routes 77 & 5, Corfu, September 22nd, 2002, 9 am to 4 pm, contact Jim Meier (585-343-8752) for tickets. $20.00 each.

Lyle Foell presented the sign up sheet for the Erie County Fair demo, members should sign up for portions of the day from Thursday August 8th, thru Sunday August 18th. Call Lyle at 674-2736 if you did not sign up yet. He also requested members make items that could sell for five dollars or less at the fair. As in the past the money will go to charity in the name of the club. See page 2 for the list of those who signed up to date. We need members to be there Friday-August 9th, 2pm-9pm, Saturday-August 10th, 2pm-6pm, Friday August 16th, 6pm-9pm,Saturday-August 17th, 6pm-9pm, and Sunday-August 18th ,10am-2pm. Please come when you can and support this great event.

Milt Enrenberg brought wood from the company that made Colin Powell’s desk for use by members to make toys for UCPA.

John Lunney – great bowl’s, made 57 bowls in three weeks. Wow!

Bob Ball showed attendees how to make pens for sale at EC Fair.

John Lunney showed attendees how to make tops for sale at the EC Fair.

Jim Hilburger – showed attendees how to make tops and door-stoppers for sale at the EC Fair.

Business Meeting

Carm Queeno thanks Omar Roszel for 2 modified design lap easels for UCPA, The club also thanks Carm for his modified design easel. He again states the UCPA can use more easel’s and  building blocks & toys.

Lyle Foell thanks those who have donated work for sale at the Erie County Fair. Those who took shoe horns to have handles made, are requested to bring the finished product to the Wood Carvers Building at the fair.

September 14th, there will be a how to chuck, beginner woodturners one day class at Barb’s Barn. Sign up at the September 5th, meeting.
