Old Business Items:
Richard reported the October 4, 2014 demo with Joe Ruminski is being worked on and is going forward. Tickets are on sale now at a cost of $20.00 per person. The demo will be at the Dale Center, 33 Ontario Street in Lockport 14094. Parking and the entrance is at the rear of the building.
In addition to this demo, Joe Ruminski will give a hands on demo on October 5th, at Barb Berger’s barn. Please note: There are only 10 spaces available for the hands on demo, so if you are interested please contact Barb Berger at 716-652-4156 or e-mail email@example.com to make a reservation. The “hands on” fee will be $45.00 per person for the day. Members attending the “hands on” are responsible for their own lunch arrangements. More information on this demo will be available in the near future.
Bob Ball mentioned that if anyone has any new ideas for DVD’s or would like a particular one that we presently do not have, please let him know and he will work on obtaining it.
Another discussion was had on the Minwax Award we received. It was decided that the $5,000.00 would be distributed as follows:
(1). $1,200.00 Will be held out for taxes incurred for receiving this award. (2). $600.00 will be given to each of the clubs from Lockport, Hamburg, and Pembroke. (3). The balance of $2000.00 will be held by our Woodturners 1 Club to be used as necessary after club discussions. To finalize this plan a motion was made by Jim Vasi, and seconded by Brianne Corbett.
The Minwax presentation has been scheduled for Wednesday June 11, 2014 at 4 pm at the Maryvale School shop where we schedule our regular meetings. A Minwax employee will demonstrate their products for the group, along with presenting the award. All members are encouraged to attend this function. Along with our members, Richard has invited several members from our other local clubs to enjoy this presentation. This should be interesting, and informative for woodworking. Who knows, maybe some of us will learn some new tricks and tips for finishing our items.
New Business Items:
There was more discussion on the Facebook page address that was borrowed by a local individual and it was decided by motion and second that Brianne Corbett, our Webmaster, will initiate a new Facebook page and e-mail address for our group. More information will follow when this has been set up.
If any member does not have a name tag or current membership card please see or contact Norm Kosmerl and he will prepare one for you. The tags should be worn at all the meetings so new and old members can identify our club officers and other members.
There are still some outstanding dues to be collected for 2014. The fee this year is only $10.00 and is payable to our Treasurer Mr. Kosmerl. Please keep your dues up to date as they are one of our few sources of income. Thank you…
DVD’s Are available from Bob Ball at each meeting. If you are interested please see him, for the details on the loan program. The list of DVD’s is available on our Website.

The June demo will be given by Richard Mialki and other members who will display some of the Fair items that can be made for our Make-A-Wish project.
