Rich Mialki requested we all look at the web site Mark Placek as it shows the square bowl turning. Mark is a Niagara Falls turner and he has donated one of his square bowls for us to sell at the Fair for our Make-a-Wish effort.
Jim Rupracht reminded all that the professional turner Keith Tompkins is coming to WNY for a day seminar.. Pembroke Woodturners Guild and Woodturners 1 are sponsoring a woodturning demonstration by Keith Tompkins on Sunday, April 26th at Pembroke High School Auditorium. Keith will be turning spiral forms, hollow forms, as well as bowls and more. He will also be covering the basics of form design. To learn more about Keith go to www.keithptompkins.com/about.htm. The demo will be from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Door prizes, raffles and 50/50 are available. The cost is $20.00. Contact Jim Rupracht (585-547-3885 or email@example.com) for more info or tickets.
Do you need wooden parts for toys? See Steve Imerese, he has 1,000 pieces that were donated by Carol Diermeyer to help us make toys for the benefit of Make-A-Wish and Aspire. Thank You, Carol.
Bob Ball request all those who have videos from our library PLEASE RETURN THEM. He is sending letters asking for their return.
Show & Tell: Thanks for sharing, Bill Perry, Jim Hilburger, Ben Martinke, Jim Rupracht, Eugen Schlaak, Jim Schnellinger, Frank Stanko, & Rick Crowe. Thanks Again.
Demo: Jim Hilburger & Bob Ball did a great job of sharing how they make wood angles. Each had different little tricks and methods but the end product looked great and about the same. THANKS JIM & BOB.
Next Meeting: Thursday March 5th, 2009, 7:30 PM
The demonstration will be a surprise. Don’t miss this one.
Respectfully, Dick Radel 2/21/09
