The 50/50 Club of $25.00 was drawn and awarded once again to “Lucky” Beaton.
The meeting started off with Mr. Mike Holley and Ms. Sarah Majeski from the Aspire Center for Learning thanking all our members for the great job done once again at the Christmas Party. Mr. Holley also presented Steve Imerese with a photo of our members, guests, and the Harmonacoots who were present for the festivities.
Gene Renzoni also expressed his appreciation to the club members and Denise Mussari of the S.E.F.C.U. (State Employees Federal Credit Union) Foundation for their contributions.
If you “Google” the Aspire Website you can get the Channel 2 News clip of the party. Very well done, and great for the Woodturners Clubs recognition.

Our Demo was done by Rick Lawrence, who is a cabinet maker, and he showed us the process of making items with segmented turning. He did a great job in the explanation of the steps involved in producing a finished bowl or other segmented items. He also recommended a great website for us all to reference for this type information at:
We are always looking for members to do demonstrations or give us some ideas for our programs. If you would like to do a demo for us, have any new ideas, or are just interested in learning something specific, mention it to one of the Vice President’s committee members. I am sure that they will do their best to produce results. The committee members are: Jim Cunning, Paul Wilhelm, and Brian Young.
Our next meeting will be at the Maryvale High School Shop on Groundhogs Day, Thursday February 02, 2012 at 1900 hours (7:00 pm.) sharp. The demo will be Marwin Feldman explaining platter carving. Should be interesting, as Marwin always does a great job.
