Turners 1 September '07 Meeting

Jim goes through the planning and calculations necessary for the segmented work

An open segment bowl blank requires an incremental glue up technique

After the indexed incremental glue up, the blank is ready

At turning speed, the "windows" are not an issue to cutting

Being all face grain, the outside is turned easily to the desired shape

The inside it shaped appropriately to match the outide contours

Traditional tools cut nicely even though they are really interupted cuts

The inside contours are finished

The demo is completed by showing the finished results of a previously turned bowl
