Turners 2 May 2008 Meeting

Having sharp tools is a necessity

One of the handy things to have is a sanding disk that can be mounted on the lathe

Turning a custom fit, wooden mandrel insures concentricity and easy mounting of blanks

Jim uses this technqiue for a variety of his items turned for the fair

Fast, inexpensive, and tunable for the task at hand

The mount allows for turning and finishing right on the lathe

A lamp pull of multi-color ply

Jim shows lamp pulls, bottle stoppers, tops, and more

Fast, simple turnings, made from scraps, that will sell at a low price

A nice demo covering many ideas and techniques from mounting to turning to finishing
