Barb and Jim Hilburger catch up during setup

We had a full house

Jim Hilburger started things off with sharpening

Jim explains how a sharp tool is a must

The different types of grinds affect how the tool cuts

Every student had a chance to sharpen their own tools

After sharpening Paul Mazuchowski taught tool usage

Here he explains how to rub the bevel

Everyone then practiced what they had learned

Our youngest student admires his work

Tool usage was stressed for most of the morning

Barb gets caught by my camera snapping shots of everyone

By the looks of the shavings the students did well

As per the "Hilburger Rule" we broke for lunch

Jake Debski checks the tenon on a tool handle

Everyone made a handle as their first project of the day

We had quite a number of young turners

Dad took over for a while

This is Ron Hudson's neighbor

Ron helps insert the steel in the handle

A proud student and mentor

The final project was a toothpick holder

Everyone had a good time

Our mentors with their "Turning Muscles"
